Rutsuko Yamagishi -Pianist
She was born in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, followed to start the piano at the age of
three-years and forced to come back to Japan as a new member of her family due to the business request of her father when she was five (5) year-old.
Again, the same business request of the father, she was forced to transfer to Manila, Philippines accompanied with her family at the age of six (6) year-old, in where she met the chances to be able to receive the piano lessens by Ms. Stella Goldenberg Brimo who was the eldest daughter of governor-general former Spain and arranged the big opportunities with regard to the piano recital at "Pacoparc" in Manila City when she was nine (9) year-olds, which was telecasted to the cross country in Philippines as an educational television broadcast. She was again forced to come back to Japan accordingly.
After graduating Toho High School of Music, she entered into Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo, during where she studied the piano with Professor Sadako Matsuoka. In 1993, she studied abroad to Vancouver, B.C. in Canada for further continued her piano under Professor Eugene Skovorodnikov.
Further continuation of the piano, she studied from 1997 to 2005 in Florence, Italy under the great master of Lazar Berman(1930-2005) and she necame one of the last apprentices of the said great master.
During her studying abroad in Canada, she received the third (3rd) prize of the international piano competition of "Roma 1995" in Italy in 1995 and in 1997, she admitted by the first (1st) prize at British Colombia Association of Performing Arts Festival in Canada.
In 1998, she performed the concert of SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN MUSIC FESTIVAL at Florence with an excellent reputation on the news paper of Flensburger and Lubeck, which concert was recommended by the graet master Lazar Berman.
In 1999, following to the above concert, she gave the concert at Budini Gattai Palace in Florence, Italy.
For her debut recital in Tokyo, Japan, which was conducted in 1999 at Casals Hall in Tokyo organized by Kajimoto Concert Management with the remarkable reputations on 3 music magazines in Japan, following to such her piano debut in 1999, she had performed, thereafter, own concerts in Japan every year. During those own concert activities, she had been invited by Japanese Broadcast more than one time, such as NHK-FM national radio and television.
In 2005, David Oistrahhi Festival (Estonia) invited her as a soloist and the further orchestral and solo appearances have been followed through out Italy,
Germany, Netherlands, England, Estonia, lithuania, Singapore and Japan
After 2006, she moves her bases to Japan, and has been carried out the lecture concert to Master Class, and the solo recitals in nationwide at various places in Japan
In addition to the above concerts and recitals, she is being executed the concerts organized by YAMAHA, KAWAI and the other Japanese institutions.
